Although many of our favourite trees and flowers are now shedding their vibrant colours and our gardens are beginning to look bare, there are still plenty of ways that we can keep that colour going through the colder, fresher days.
Here, at Almondsbury Garden Centre, our hardy perennial plants, alpines and shrubs are looking fantastic as part of our outdoor plant displays. And with some clever arrangements, these plants can help bring those tired-looking areas into their own.
Located just a short walk away from the main shop, our collection of bold and beautiful grasses can add a brilliant touch to any pot or corner of a garden. The plants hold a range of colours, spanning from silvery blues to burnt oranges. In addition to this, with shapes that appear to burst out from the base, the grasses will create an attractive and interesting display.
Throughout the summer, many may have added new decking or constructed garden buildings. Yet, even though the energy of summer flowers is now on the way out, those spaces can still be transformed with our grasses, shrubs and more.
Included in our selection of fantastic ornamental grasses is Carex Amazon Mist. Added to a pot on a balcony garden or used as a plant for the edges of your borders, the wispy leaves of Amazon Mist will instantly fill your empty spaces with life and shape. Pennisetum Rubrum, another one of the bold grasses we have in our collection also boasts flower spikes in July which appear almost like fireworks. Perfect for including in a border at the back of a garden or in a tall pot on wooden decking.
As well as our great collection of ornamental grasses, we also have an attractive range of shrubs for you to browse. The plants come in a host of different sizes, from smaller forms perfect for lining borders or for working with fences and other structures, to larger varieties which can be shaped and trained to divide up the garden and create a more intimate space for you to enjoy.
